Annual General Meeting
April 26 & 27, 2025
The Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held on April 26 and 27, 2025 at the Inn on Prince Hotel and Conference Centre, Truro, Nova Scotia. There was a great turnout of 150 members and 22 suppliers and manufacturers turned out to support the event. The days kicked off with the meeting starting at 9:00 am, followed by one minute silence in respect of those who have served and have passed. The Minutes from the previous AGM held in 2024 were approved.
Membership
As of April 26th, we report there are 178 departments signed on.
Terry Canning, Finance Committee, presented the budget for 2025 which was approved as presented.
The Office of the Fire Marshal Awards were held at the banquet. Award winners were:
Partnership Award: Camp Courage, Andrea Speranza
Media Award: Sean Dewitt
Training Award: John Nolan
All meals and breaks were served by the terrific staff at the Inn on Prince. Thanks as well to our sponsors and suppliers for their support and donation of generous door prizes.
Various committee annual reports being given. This provided all members with updates from the current standing committees. As well Doug MacKenzie gave his report of the latest news from the Office of the Fire Marshal.
